A Shift in the Paradigm for the New Year

Happy New Year and Kwanzaa Yenu Iwe Na Heri for those celebrating Kwanzaa

Today us the last day of Kwanzaa and the first of the New Year. I find it appropriate that Habari Gani the principle is Imani meaning faith. To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle into the New Year the word is. It takes a lot of faith to leave behind the troubles, the woes, the sorrows, the heartache, the pains, the trials, the tribulations of yesteryear  and believe that tomorrow  will bring with it successes, happiness, joy, peace, love and all that jazz. I’m not saying there won’t be bad things to come. It is as much a part of life as the good. But this New Year does bring new opportunities to make opportunities, to react differently, to act before waiting to react, and knowing when waiting is necessary

I am going to try this year to take this same advice. And what fortunate happenstance that the first day of the year also happens to fall on motivational Monday.

I also hope like many to shed a few pounds, pick up healthy habits, and attain my goals that will take me closer to my dreams. I hope I can share this journey with you and that you follow along with me. I haven’t reached where I had hoped to at this point in time of my life, but I also have learns so much and I can see I have grown from where I was. As infinitesimally as it may be it is still growth. And growth is always good.

My final words for today are to remember the acorn. Be acorns. No one sees you when you struggle to grow but when you do you are known to be one of the mightiest of trees. You may be nutty but because of this you can help many and your new seeds can be new generations of acorns

Mr. Hot Shot

So creatively I have been a little dormant but with the help of and expanding on the ideas of Mr. Ken Sambury for a short film for Trinidad & Tobago Smartphone Film Festival. Unfortunately, we were not able to submit the film on time. But nonetheless, here is the final script we agreed upon. Mr Hot Shot
